I was interested in the W70 range when they first came out - I used to own one of their predecessors - a Speers-Waler 24.5mm which has a very simillar spec to the W70 25mm (rather than the more complex design of the shorter focal length Speers-Waler's). I think there were MK1 and MKII versions of the W70's which might explain the varience of body dimensions in the 25mm.

I found a very interesting piece on one of the USA forums (Cloudynights possibly ?) where someone removed the silver casing from a couple of the W70's to find clones of the Skywatcher UWA eyepieces lurking inside !.

I went off the W70's a bit after that TBH ......
