Vixen MT-1 current consumption?

Just about ready to connect up the DD-1/MT-1 combination (two motors) but was wondering how much current I need to supply to the controller? I have several power supplies, but not sure if they can provide enough current.

The Vixen-supplied (and very expensive) mains power supply is specified at 3A but this does caters for powering two motors and the Starbook controller with colour LCD screen.

The recommendation is for a PSU with up to 1.7A rating but we have run one with only 1.0A rating but on a well-balanced set-up and without "stressing" the motors.
