Recommended Posts

I managed to get another 4 odd hours on Saturday night... I would have had an hour more, but my camera battery ran flat.. as did the spare, and I didn't realise ... ho hum...

Anyway

76 x 6 Minutes, 33 Flats, no Bias or Darks

Guided with a DSI on the Vista 80s with PHD

John that is sooo impressive!

I want to do that!

Stunning image John, a real pleasure to look at! I like especially the detail showing in the dust lanes at the back (back? front? which way is M31 tilted towards us, BTW? ;)). Anyway, bring it along on Monday!

And get a mains adaptor for the camera!

Pete... I've no clue which way is which ;)... .
Been doing some googling :(. It appears the NW side is the nearer; that would be: the top left side in your image, the 'M110' side. I never knew that, until now!

Hey john, I know this is thread is from a long time ago, but I was wondering if you reckon there's any more detail to grab from this one? Or do you reckon you've max-ed out the amount of detail you can collect after 7.5hrs with your current setup?

I really don't know Bob... I'm not sure I'll bother this year though... I've been trying to get another 20 or 30 subs on M45 to finish that off, but the most I've been getting is 2 or 3 a night (and only 2 nights) since I got the last set on this. I've got other targets to try if the weather ever lets up....

Cheers Guys :headbang:

John, Looking at your latest pic of M31, on the right spiral arm, there is a blue patch, they look like some star clusters, what do you think ?
