Found a really good eyepiece case

I was looking for a strong case to hold my eyepieces, and was struggling to find something suitable which didn't cost the earth. Then I remembered, back in the days when I used to terrorise the people of Lancashire with ridiculous songs, seeing music shops selling 'microphone cases': flight cases which not only have foam storage areas for holding delicate items, but which also have extra compartments for holding cables.

Long story short, I just gone one from Amazon and think it's great. It'll hold about 8 EPs, I'd guess, and the extra compartment is perfect for power cables, tools, etc. Highly recommended for £24.

Very nice case. These are very similar to the one's Maplins often have for sale.

I did look at the Maplins cases, but the extra cable compartment swung me this way. I do like to be organized...!

I'd suggest if you have a set of Ethos' you might want to consider a Peli or B&W.

There's no point in scimping on a case when you have £3000 worth of glass in it!!

I can report that after a few nights' observing I'm still really happy with this. Although my wife seems to look at it askance: I think she's worried how quickly my astronomy interest has started to look 'professional'
