red dwalf
Hi All, i have a celestron cg5-gt mount which i polar align by sight through the dec axis site tube, altitude is set correctly at 52` so are the index marks on the mount and all looks right, but when i mount the scope, a 6" sct, the scope does not point at polaris nor does the RDF, it`s always a few degrees to the left, when i loosen the clutch on one of the axis and move it about an inch to the right it`s bang on, what am i doing wrong ? arad85
The index mounts are not precisely put on the mounts. Mine don't (or should that be didn't as it's packed to be collected tomorrow ) point the 'scope at Polaris...
