A couple of galaxies...

Recommended Posts

The main Solar System scope has been taken off for a while and so I thought I'd have a go at deep sky for a bit. Here are a couple of galaxies shot over the last week or so. I need to go back and take my time over the processing of these but that can wait for a cloudy period!

Nice those Pete...

Wish i had the opportunity to even see M31 at moment let alone imaging time..

Would be interesting to see how the canon dealt with M33..

Can I ask what your processing software for the M31 image was?

Thanks

Steve

Nice to see you posting some DSO's Pete. You have picked up a lot of detail in the dust lanes of M31 and it's looking pretty good for work in progress. M33 is nicely filling the frame and looking good too. Although there does seem to be an alignment problem is the stars. There is a red patch to the left of the brighter stars.

Regards

Kevin

Hi Pete,

These are really lovely Images of (I'm relatively new so haven't found that many....yet!) two of my favourite objects...I can look at M31 and friends for hours! .....I find m33 a real challenge though and Ive only managed to find it twice. Thanks for these, you've given me renewed vigour to keep on with m33..:o

Your DSO Imaging is just as superb as your Solar work Pete.

Two lovely examples here, and we would be happy to see more :o

You have picked up the faintest extensions here giving very good results. John.

Nice work Pete.

You achieved a very natural blue in the outer arms of M31, which isn't seen that often.

Great capture and processing :o

Cheers

Rob
