I did the same a week back looking at Jupiter on a small refractor. Lined it up and couldn't see a thing, not even a star anywhere or even Jupiter. Didn't help when Imoved the scope up, down, left or right.

Improved a lot with the objective cover removed, even saw Jupiter.

Soooooooooooo glad i am not the only one!!!

Spent an hour trying to solve the same thing.

Caps off nothing to be seen??

Forgot to rotate the head in order to line up the polarscope opening.

Done the not turning the head ... I checked I'd removed the caps 4 times before I twigged ...
