Jupiters Moons (or lack of them ?)

As reported on the One Minute Astronomer site, it seems that all of Jupiters moons will be hidden from view on September 2nd / 3rd.

Also, looks like a "once in a while" experience - it's not set to occur again until 2019 ! I think it would be interesting to see them drop away and re-emerge.

It'll be prime time for me. :) The moons will be transiting or occulted from about 11:50pm till about 1:30am... that's going to look really weird, lol. It's been beautifully clear for a few days and nights already, and the forecast says much of the same for tomorrow.

Am I going mad then, I could have sworn I saw five moons a few days ago....

Even your new scope is not that good :)

We can only see four moons, the rest are to small. You must have seen a background star.
