We've just had the 1st AstroMania StarParty in Redondo, Alentejo in Portugal. Alentejo has actually the best sky in Europe for StarParties. It hardly rains and there are huge areas with no light pollution. It doesn't get any better than this. The bad part is that during the day it was 44º Celcious ... in the shade. I drank over 10litres of water and Ic tea in less than 48 hours...:)
