This image of Iris Nebula was taken on the Thursday and Saturday night at the Salisbury Star Party and Monday night at home.


Exposure 4hrs 5mins (14x 10mins and 7x15 minute subs)

Hi Kevin,

An inspiring shot. You've brought out a sense of the bright nebula breaking through the clouds of dust in that blaze of blue light. Dramatic lighting in the image!

I keep coming back to this one, it really is impressive! Was thinking that it might look better with a little less saturation so had a play. It is subjective, of course, but I do prefer it toned down a tad.

so what was the working focal length?

around 500-600mm???

The scope is 650mm native and 520mm with the 0.8x FF/FR.

I have to agree with you Steve so here's a slightly toned down version somewhere between your edit and the original just for Pete :)
