Celestron_130EQ
I decided while i was taking pics of the moon to have a go at jupiter. At first i used the 10mm but it wasn't big enough to see so decided to use the 4mm. I know Jupiter's low, full moon etc but was wondering why i could not see any banding or moons in the photo yet can see them in the eyepiece?Any help, tips, ideas are welcome. Keithp
I'm no expert, but I think you'll find it's down to exposure. Here's one I did a few nights back 13 seconds at is800, well over exposed but picked up the moons. Having this now I would lower the exposure in steps to try and find a medium, then maybe combine the best into a stack to show the best attributes from all..Hope it helpsRegardsKeithShould add it was prime focus. 250px with canon 500d

johankj
Hi, I'm new and experimenting with Jupiter too.I've purchased a T-Ring adapter for my camera, which lets me connect my DSLR directly onto my telescope. Adaptors - T RingsI use ISO values from 100 to 400. I've attached an image that is an example of what I get that way...I think webcams are supposed to be better for planetary work btw.. johankj
I should add that the camera settings were ISO200 at 1/30 Secs. No modification to WB or EC, no post-processing either, this is how the image appears...
