Moon 17th Aug - 214K

Hi guys,

Took this the other night way before it got dark, the moon was very low in the sky. Taken at 20:43 the moon was only 5 degrees above the horizon... So atmosperics were playing there part in making an image quite hard...

Taken on full auto and then a little unsharp mask and then a slight adjustment of brightness and contrast.

Mot majorly good but I was on a time limit and it had to be taken then or not at all...

That pic is a really brilliant pic considering the moon was only 5 degrees up.

You have captune a lot of detail especsially the craters at the bottem and top left

Nice one Ant picked up plenty of good detail and looks smooth all over mate ,, not done a moon shot in ages , would you beleive i cant see the moon this phase from where i am , darn trees hehehehe

Very nice contrast between the dark plains & light areas Ant without being overexposed. Crater detail shows up nice & sharp. Congrats!

Might make a move back into Lunar imaging, something to do when the moons up :L)

Its a great image Ant... I took the liberty of saving it and sharpend it a little further in paintshop pro with fantastic results!!.
