celestron star pointer

Evening all,

just had a replacement delivered for my old broken RDF, this new RDF seems to be a bit better quality, it`s the Celestron star pointer model number 51630, trouble is the battery at the front end of this model doesn`t have a little black plastic cover to cover the battery ! is this normal on this model ?

Not that model I know, but the Baader SkySurfer III doesn't have a cover for the battery either.
