9th May moon pictures

One with the Frac, and another with the Mak. Some kind of comparison thing.

Both taken with the D50 DSLR. The first (frac.) picture is cropped and both are resized down from 3000 x 2000.

The change in image orientation might have just been "camera twirl". I find the colour more interesting assuming no filters were used. Although i have no idea what colour the moon is (sounds odd now i say it) so i dont know which one is more natural. I assume the refractor is closer to the natural colour but it looks very WHITE

Hey ,darn fine images there CC mate , they are both really good and its hard to say which i prefer really , maybe the second , but very good .

Had a play with No2:

The rotation was intentional. The moon fits fine in the frac. FOV, but the flat bit where the moon was missing seemed ideal to deal with the fact that the DSLR doesn't have a square frame. Steve, nice play, I tried that but I didn't like the way the Mares went furry. I was trying for the super smooth, sea like look that Rog. gets.
