Alternative to an "alarm clock" ??

As you all know, an early rise is sometimes neccesary to view certain celestial objects.

If you live alone this is no problem, set your alarm clock !.

However, my wife and I both work shifts and I would hate to wake her at 4 A.M. with a ringing alarm clock

just so I could catch a fleeting glimpse of Venus.

Are there any alternatives that dont involve waking spouse/partner ?

Maybe there are vibrating ( ooeeerrr!!! missus !) Alarm clocks or something

similiar out there that I am unaware of.

Any help , as always, greatly appreciated.

Cheers, bob.

I suppose it might have to be the sofa then!

Gaz, you obviously dont work hard enough on your shifts if you can afford to stay up all night

when your off :D

The vibrating phone sounds fun, but thats a different story altogether!

Occasionally, I've used the alarm on my wristwatch. If she's asleep, she just mutters a little. If she's suffering from her usual insomnia, she'll say, 'Where the hell are you going?' and when I tell her, "Hmmmph!" :D

Buy one of those alarm clocks that has an alarm that gradually increases in volume. Seiko do a nice one; it starts off quite relaxed then gets progressively more and more manic the longer it is left.

Just be sure it is placed on your side of the bed :D
