I finally downloaded the last images on my camera that I took in April 2009. This is a stack of only 36 subs @20 sec. taken with the CPC-1100 in Alt/Az and a Canon XT DSLR.

The Alt/Az doesn't do too well on DSO's. But, I'm happy with this basic image.

Bright clusters like this are ideal for Alt/Az mode and you have captured it well

Great image for AltAz! Do you use Photoshop? If so, try going Image-Mode-Lab Colour, then Channels-Split Channels and in channels a and b only, apply a gaussian blur of maybe two. Then recombine. I suspect the background sky will look a deal smoother. Forgive me if you already do this.

Thank you for the PS tip...No, I've never done that technique. I'll have to give it a try. I usually only do basic levels and curves..So, Feel free to Play with my image if you like.
