Hi! This looks like a fun forum. I'm writing from North Carolina in the U.S. I've been into astronomy on a casual basis for a few years now. Typically, my wife and I live in big cities with lots of light pollution. I have a 8" Dob, but most of my observing has been with a simple 70mm Orion Observer. I enjoy observing the planets and the moon. I also just like looking for constellations while walking the dog. :)

Hi and welcome to SGL, GD. :headbang:

I'm in the States, too.. originally from Chicago but had sense enough to move up to northcentral Wisconsin . Only way they're getting me off of my rural 40 acres is feet first in a pine box. :)

Hello GD, and I hope you enjoy the SGL Forum.

An 8" Dobsonian is a very useful instrument, and popular too.

As you can tell by my avatar, I'm originally from Michigan.

Been to North Carolina twice; beautiful state, friendly people.
