I would highly recommend it Herakles, certainly helped me along Carol is very talented. Her sketching tutorials in the Sky @ Night mag are great too - check them out even if you don't draw the month's target it's good for learning about sketching techniques

Def gonna try it Amanda . I saw the tutorial on S@N magazine . My only cocern would be my daughters ''borrowing'' the pencils ! KIDS !!!!!!!

Pete, let them borrow the pencils, godlovethem.. lol.

To be perfectly honest, you can do a lot with one pencil by varying the pressure.

I agree with you on the pencil front - it's surprising the varying shades you can get out of just one pencil. Lately, just doing quick sketches (more like scribbles really) at the EP, I can get a lot of variation out of a 4B. Very handy for practicing
