IC1396 Revisited.

Recommended Posts

Two nights clear on the trot now that's got to be the first time in ages. Saturday was spent at a local campsite doing a talk for a dad and son camp followed by showing them a view of Saturn M13 etc with my Lightbridge. Afterwards I did a spot of Astrotrac-ing and captured a widfield of the Cygnus area.

I was going to go back to the same site last night but came down with a cold. So I set up my main imaging rig in the back garden and after seeing the IC1396 on the widefield I decided to get some more data closer in.

The following image is a combination of 2hrs 20mins from last night and 35 mins from the 1st May. Exposure 7x5mins and 14x 10mins

Very Nice Kev,

Smooth with loads of rich colour...

IC1396 fits really nicely into the FOV of a 66 especially if you have a 0.8X FR on it an an APS-C sized sensor... it looks really nice with Herschels Garnet star in the FOV as well....

Peter...
