I’m new to astronomy and was stargazing tonight and decided to try out my phone camera so I took this pic with a 10 second exposure and was just wondering what this red glare is on the far left of the pic.

If you are referring to the reddish dot on the left, with no information of direction, and based on colour and around 5 or 6 stars in the frame I would guess it could be Mars... but don't take my word for it... there are a lot more experienced guys on here that can correct me if I'm wrong.

Go to https://stellarium-web.org/ , it should pick up your location automatically from your device. Location is important, without it there's less chance of knowing what you saw. In the grey box at bottom right set the date and time to match when you took the photo, which are also important, then pan around to whatever compass direction you were looking .

Any likely astronomical causes of the red splodge will be shown.

Ye I’ve tried using that app but for some reason its always like a few degrees off and everything is more right on the map then where it should be
