I've been using the cheap 2" Askar Duo filter for a while and it works well. Got it from FLO a while ago for £100ish. I see the specs for the C1 and the D1 but can't find what the band pass numbers are for this older duo, does anyone here know? It's still for sale and more expensive than the C1 but a lot cheaper the the D1.

Cheers.

Looking on FLO's website under customer reviews for the Duo, one reviewer intimated it was comparable to the L-Extreme at 7nm.

"On paper it appears to be a good competitor to the L-Extreme, both being 7nm in Oiii and Ha, although I'm aware the L-Extreme has issues with halos at times."

Transmission looks to be 90% at 500.7nm and over 80% at 656nm.

Yeah I saw that. Nothing on the packaging or advertising mentions it though.  But the D1 specs are 6.5 on Oiii and 8.5 on Ha but it's 2.5x the price.

The original Duo-band filter is 7nm. I got one of the early ones from FLO and it has it marked on the box & the case.

If you do a search of the For Sale section there are photos of it in there. ;)

The price of the D1 may well be down to the better/different coatings they're using for the halo control, compared to the Duo-band & C1.

I got in early too, maybe the first batch didn't have it marked, Not on the box or the side of the filter.

Just for completeness of this thread, and now that I'm home so have access to my images, here's what my case looks like:

Think I must have had an early batch. At least I bought mine from FLO so know it's genuine. It's a great filter for price.
