Just had a short session observing the Sun with my new-to-me PST.

Some lovely detail on show from the little scope including some large prominences all around the solar limb, a whopping sun spot group on the disk with a "black eye" at it's core and many well defined filaments crossing the solar disk. And that was observing though a double glazed patio door !

This GONG image (below) shows the sort of details that the PST was showing me. I don't do much solar observing but small sessions like this whet the appetite for more - the Sun is just so giving just now 🙂

Very nice John. I bought a double stack for my PST many years ago and it has made a huge difference. I bought my PST about 20 years ago and although it has a 'rust ' problem it has served me well.

I use the Gong system quite often and then compare what I am seeing with the PST.

Nice to see you with an Ha scope @John, I hope its giving you pleasure in use.
I love my Lunt Ha 40mm, bigger would be nice, but its what fitted the budget.

Gong is a super resource and way of looking at what may be developing during the day.
