You are probably right overly smoothed. I am always tempted to go that way trying to reduce the noise level

Very nice Dave. I've just bought one of those H9 beasties and am hoping to be able to capture shots like this.

Nice one Dave, you will Love the camera. I use Nebulosity as the capture software as I have found it easy to use. Hope you enjoy it.
