IC1396 Elephants Trunk Quickie

Recommended Posts

Here's a capture of IC1396 I took on the 2 May. I wasn't going to process it as it was only 35 minutes of data, but in a moment of boredom decided to do it.

Exposure 7 x 5mins

Certainly is a busy area. I was surprised how much was picked up in a short time. As Tim says this is one to come back to.RegardsKevin

That certainly worked very well indeed pinpoint stars , nice contrast and star color and it can only get better with more subs.....

Clouds and squally showers here today ... so nowt doing again...

I'm astonished. The image is fabulous despite the short exposure. This area is very faint yet there it all is. I like your colour very much, good star colour and a good deep red for the nebulosity. The dark snakes are interesting, too.

For such a short exposure, this has come out rather well - always worth having a look at your captured data as there are often pleasant surprises especially if you have some time to kill and have a really good go at the processing.
