M3 - Mixture of Exposures - 350D

Recommended Posts

This image was taken over different nights with the 350D at 800 iso attached to the 130 APO at F6. I have found it nearly impossible to get a decent length of clear sky for imaging.

The image consists of 2min , 3min and 4 min exposures giving about 60 mins in total. The background noise/gradients were difficut to remove.

John

PS reduced the red in the second image.

Looks good to me. Nice one.

Thanks , I must admit I nearly gave up. One night I managed 20mins after waiting 2hrs for the clouds to clear.

That's 20 mins more than I've managed John :)

Good result though despite the weather trying it's best to spoil things.:D

Don't know if you want to try this to get rid of the magenta.

Great detail down to the core in that one, like it. :)

Thanks , Rog.

What "worries" me that it took several goes to get 60mins of decent frames ( chucked loads out) but the sky just never seems to be completely clear. I chose M3 because it was quite high up and globs are easier to get a decent image with the 350D.

Very good M3 John, stars bursting out all over the place. Some nice colour data which you can play around with endlessly.
