Serpentine Ridge branch

Recommended Posts

I was looking at the Sea of Serenity this morning with my 72ED at about 70X and saw what looked like a capital Y with a curvy base instead of the usual snake-like Serpentine Ridge.  I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, but I verified in my Clementine atlas that there's a branch running to the NW off the main ridge, at about the latitude of Posidonius.

Not being a serious lunar observer, I was quite pleased I was able to see that.
