Is technology killing off astronomy clubs?

The CAA has observing sessions weekly, if the sky is clear.

When it is clear, some members bring their own kit. The CAA also has a telescope, colour camera and projection screen so that everyone there can see what is in the sky. Sometimes they fit a spectrograph (this only takes a minute or two) and show the difference between A, G and K type stars.

I first saw the four large satellites of Uranus on that screen.
