M27 - first DSO since 2009

So I've been an on and off astronomer for many years but mostly visual. Never really got into DSO imaging, had a few goes a long time ago (I think my last attempt was in 2009) but it never took off with me for some reason. Decided to give it another go and been out for several sessions recently. Here's my best result I've managed so far: M27 captured with a stock Canon 600D through the ED80 on the night of the 16th.

145x25 sec exposures at ISO 1600, unguided. Darks taken but no flats or biases.

I have much to learn on the processing side definitely, just about managed to figure out stacking in Siril, stretching and background extraction to remove a clear background gradient from light pollution (Bortle 6 skies). If anyone has any tips to improve what I have managed to do with the data, I'm all ears!

Next on the shopping list is a field flattener I think. I'm also working on getting guiding up and running using a Raspberry Pi running Astroberry.

Thank you 😊 yes, more data!

I've got Astroberry controlling the mount now, so hopefully I can try some longer guided subs the next time I'm blessed with clear skies.
