Perseids and a bit of the Aurora

I caught a couple of these on the Morning of the 11th but most were in the early hours of Monday. I caught the Aurora purely by accident. I actually saw about 10 as well which was pleasing, not necessarily the same ones of course.

I struggled a bit adding the foreground to the stack but eventually settled with a silhouette of my garage roof and distant tree tops, which hopefully adds a bit of context to the sky.

Lots of nice meteors there!!

I assume, like most, you’re still having to pinch yourself using the words “Perseids and Aurora”!

Yes, I didn’t realise until the following day. At the time I’d looked at the camera screen and actually removed it from my tripod to check it, thought the red glow in the corner was it overheating or something. 😀
 

I had a good look at the sky and although I could see a hint of reddishness I still did’t click, assumed it was some sort of light pollution, as is usual around here. 😀
