four nice doubles in a line near Eta Cyg

Recommended Posts

I was out observing last night at about 10pm with my 102mm refractor and I noticed a line of four nice looking double stars in Cygnus within 3 degrees of Eta Cygni. They form a line oriented north-south with about 1 degree steps between them.

I was using my 24mm Hyperion, giving x30 and a generous 2.3 degree FoV. The separations range from 15'' to 30'' and they look very nice at this low magnification. I think these could also be a good target for 15x70 binoculars or similar. Here are the details:

Nik

Very nice report.

I have probably observed these but hadn't noticed the line.

I will have to go back using my ST80 to get the wider view. 😀

Cheers

Ian
