LDN 1622 AKA The "Bogeyman" Nebula in RGB

Recommended Posts

About 100 X 600s Lum

and 40-50 X 600s each of RGB from E-Eye in Spain.

Processed in Pixinsight with the RC Xterminator tools and made a heck of a lot easier with the newish ImageBlend script.

This is the first image for a long time the I consider to be "finished" sufficiently to share. There's still a lot more that I'd like to improve upon, but one has to stop the self-flagellation at some point lol!

Equipment in my profile. Edit:  The Esprit 80 was used for this one.

I encourage constructive criticism, especially if anyone knows how to deal with the flares about the bright stars. Although this may be due to the objective not being cleaned for over four years...

Thanks @ollypenrice

There're many things that I could improve on e.g. the random red pixels, the clipped blacks in the dark bits, and star colours, to name but a few.

However, the overall result is quite tasty. :)

I also have a shed load of Ha to add, but I need to pluck up the courage... 🤣

And more data. Always more data!
