Jupiter & Mars Conjunction 2024

Hello, everyone! I'm excited to present some photos I took of the wonderful Jupiter & Mars conjunction over the past few mornings, culminating in their closest approach on August 14.

 

Shot with the Nikon D3200 using 70-300mm zoom lens:

The pair will share another low-power telescopic view on the morning of August 15 but will be farther apart than on the 14th. I'll pass on that one (I'll sleep in)!

Nice shots! Even though I know just how altar away the Galilean moons can get from Jupiter, I’m always surprised at just how far away they are in images like this.

Very nicely captured Reggie. I watched this from Whitstable beach, while waiting for the Sunrise. Looked really cool against the blue sky.
