Initially I went out on Monday night to capture the Perseid meteor shower but the Aurora also made a welcome appearance!!!

These images were taken from Holyhead Quarry Lake Park on Anglesey, North Wales (one made the BBC news as well  under the title 'Aurora seen as far South as Cornwall' ) between 22:30 and 23:50.

Taken with a Canon6D and Rokinon 24mm lens at f/2.8, 10second exposure (the meteors is a composite image).
