Starbase Tokyo July 2024 - Takahashi heaven!

Recommended Posts

The other thing I didn’t say, and it may be of interest, is that they had copies of the Japanese Astronomy magazine, which I think translates to ‘Astronomy Guide’ in English. One of the staff said that it’s possible to subscribe online, and after a bit of googling, I found the site: https://www.seibundo-shinkosha.net/magazine/astronomy/89104/. You can click on E-book and there are options to buy a single issue or subscribe. It’s in Japanese but Google translate works well and the articles are very interesting. I got it through an app called Tenmonguide on my iPad but I think there are other options.

The price for the FSQ-85 is quite good, translates to around £1725.

Do they export at all, saw duty free sign on the front door?

Also what makes of EP’s in the cabinet.

thanks

The prices are excellent, you get tax free prices if you show your passport and the exchange rate is good at the moment. They don’t export so you need to go in person and the scopes are only packaged in one box so are not sturdy enough for international shipping.
There were lots of EPs, I saw Tak, Baader and I think Televue but there were probably more.

It's a shame AI doesn't know what a "telescope that looks like a Takahashi TOA 150" looks like.
But not a bad job of "our Nicola struggling with it on a beach at sunset".

And there is space in the backpack for a TSA120 🤣
