Swoop1
Sometimes I want to post something that I don't think warrants its own thread so, if the powers that be are OK with it, I thought I would start a general astro stuffs thread. Here is something that made me think about starting this thread. Look what a new Hope threaded bottom bracket arrived in today (and yes, I did get first dibs on it!)- 1
saac
Do you think the manufacturers of threaded bottom brackets know how they are doing their bit for the circular economy and sustainability? They deserve a medal - and therein lies another discussion, astro awards for accidental supporting companies to the astro cause  Jim
Swoop1
Hope are one of the companies that manufacture what is affectionately known as Bike Porn. Their components are a) very well engineered and b) anodized in very nice colours. The most sought after colour is Hope Green (much like the green of Skywatcher dovetails). The reason it is so sought after is, it is team issue. If you see someone riding a bike with green Hope kit on it, don't challenge them, they are either VERY good riders, are good friends with a VERY good rider, or they stole it..... 1

scarp15
Very nice have one of those bolt cases (which are not as easy to come by nowadays I believe), which I've used to securely transport a 31mm Nagler. Quite agree with you concerning UK bicycle parts manufacturer Hope. Have a set of their wheels and hub on one of my bikes and as a convert to Flat pedals, two bikes now have fitted Hope Flat pedals, quality of engineering and design is superb.

I free wheel to warn pedestrians (on a cycle path) of my approach.  Regards Andrew

Swoop1
Just heard an uncharacteristic jet engine noise going over the shop and managed to catch the tail end of what looked like a De Havilland Venom dissapearing into the distance 😀
Swoop1
And it has been over twice again today. First time east to west (ish) and then an hour or so later returning.
Mandy D
@Swoop1 looks like a multi-start thread on the container as well as the forum... Should I get my coat? 😄
Bivanus
Well now , I think I might have something interesting tho not thread worthy: I finally managed to get a handle for my 50/180mm Finder/Guider/Spotter/Something-Something 😃 I saw a lot of them handles with GoPro cameras , alas , they also had GoPro prices. If I manage to get some $ toghether is glass-oriented - like the Pan24 that funny enough , raises the little Nifty-Fifty to a sparkling clean image well above the means of the Omegon zoom it's usually housing.
Nicola Fletcher
I don’t think this warrants a post but it’s just a funny thing I saw while in Japan. There are ‘capsule shops’ all over Japan, some with multiple floors selling all sorts of stuff in little plastic circular capsules. They tend to be grouped by theme, such as cartoon characters, figurines from films etc. I was in one in Sapporo recently and there was one capsule dispenser selling telescope models. Of course I bought one and got the reflector. It’s at home on my bookshelf and looks very cute with my Astro books. 9

I spent a *lot* of time and needless to say money on gachapon what I was there for a few months last year but these must be a newer addition to the endless cycle of gachapon stuff as I sadly didn't see these anywhere. I may have to put one of my mates who loves over there into service and pick some up for me!

I checked and you can buy them online - now I am sorry I didn’t get the set 😂
