Nene Valley Astronomical Society

Recommended Posts

The next meeting of the newly established Nene Valley Astronomical Society will be an observing session at Chelveston Village Hall in East Northants on 18th May starting at 8pm.

All welcome to join us for a friendly evening to do some solar observing and once the sky darkens sufficiently catch Saturn as well as some other late spring delights.

Regular observing sessions are planned for the third Monday of each month at Chelveston, whilst lecture meetings take place on the first Monday of each month at the Friends Meeting House St John Street, Wellingborough at 7.45pm.

The group is also looking at holding other observing sessions at other sites in the coming months.

Our next meeting is being held on Monday 20th July at Chelveston Village Hall starting at 8.00pm.

As this meeting co-incides with the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, this will be the main focus for the meeting. Plus there will be time for the usual astronomical discussion and observations showcase.

All welcome.

Next Meeting is at Chelveston Village Hall on Monday 19th October at 8.00pm. The topic for this evening will be the planet 'Jupiter' and we'll be giving some hints and tips on how to observe the giant planet. As usual, the meeting is informal and if we manage to book the clear sky then there will be the usual observing session.

All welcome!
