Cleaning Eyepieces?

Recommended Posts

Try blowing them with a lens cleaning bulb, or buy a tin of compressed air, available from all good camera shops. DO NOT SHAKE THE TIN BEFORE USE as it contains a liquid that should stay in the can. This is also useful for cleaning the sensors on your Dslr and web cams.

Rubbing on the lens can remove the coating, and affect the performance.

Try not to touch the lenses with fingers, use a clean 100& cotton swab and gentle brush the more stubborn dust, avoid liquids at all costs, if the get in between the lenses, you are in for an expensive time.

A little dust won't be to detrimentel to viewing, but I know that when you know it's there :x

Hope it's of use to you

Greg is right, particularly if it is a valuable eyepiece.

I can recommend a good optical repair center:

Glasgow Binocular Repairs

Central Chambers

93 Hope Street

Glasgow

Lanarkshire

G2 6LD

Telephone: 01412487179

I have used them on several occasions and have absolute confidence in them
