CELESCOPE

A Host of Galaxies

Recommended Posts

Having arrived back fron SGL4, earlier than expected, i decided to take advantage of a lovely clear sky, and imaged my old favorite Galaxy M100 this always appeals to me ,seems a nice tight Galaxy ,with plenty of action going on around it,

Never achieved the amount of subs i wanted ,as feelinga bit worn out from the journey home etc ,so just 19x7 mins ,a little noise in the backdrop which i had, however i,m pretty pleased with the end result.

Imaging scope used Equinox 120, Guide scope Equinox 80, guide camera QHY5, and guided PHD.DDP used to draw out the finer detail in M100 .

Cheers

Rog .

That is an excellent result with detail in m100 arms and I can even detect faint outer halo. This is a lovely lower altitude galaxy, JohnH.

Yep, you could have done that from SGL4, but then you had a nice warm bed to climb into afterwards, as opposed to a sleeping bag :)

Oh yeah, nice image BTW :(:)
