Hi all,

First light of my new  ASI462MM (replacement of a GPCMOS02000KMA) .

  • Sky-Watcher Skymax 180 PRO
  • RB Focus Merlin 3.0
  • ZWO 5x1.25" Electronic Filter Wheel
  • Astronomik L2, Optolong IR685, ZWO CH4
  • ZWO ASI462MM
  • Sky-Watcher HEQ5

The software:

  • CdC
  • FireCapture
  • Autostakkert (15% drizzle 1.5)
  • RegiStax 
  • The Gimp

For my Venus I removed the AR window to gain that extra 15% that it was cutting. Others might advise you to keep it on to avoid dust on the sensor. I always had a filter on and stored it away. The AR is back on until next Venus.

Yayyy... I think you are more adventurous than I am. Dust in the sensor is not fun. The first proper astrocamera that I bought was a Touptek GPCMOS01200KPC labelled risingcam, which has some kind of sponge material around the sensor that tends to lose bits of material. Of course, such material falls over the sensor and is quite troublesome to get rid off...
