Hello,

My name's Robert from sunny N Ireland... Had a brief go at astronomy when my parents bought me a department store scope many years ago but have decided to get back into it.

So I'm starting from scratch. Trying to resist the temptation of all those lovely scopes I see posted on different sites. So I'm stocking up on books and magazines, I've purchased a pair of binoculars to try and initially find my way around.

Great forum by the way.

Hi Robert, from another NI member. This is a great site, with stacks of answers. As a fellow country man and not that long at this game, I'm a member of the NIAAS which meet monthly up in Ballyclare. We have observing nights which anyone can come to and i have learnt so much from being out with some serious knowledgable folk. It's good craic too.

The NIAAS site is Welcome To The Northern Ireland Amateur Astronomy Society.

Brian
