Imaging supernova

Hello everyone.

I want to have another go at SN2023ixf tonight but in addition, I planned to grab some dual band filtered data. Can anyone tell me if SN of this category respond to dual band filters in anyway or am I wasting good imaging time trying?

Cheers

Steve

I imaged it in HA the other day, because it's so bright it shows up as a dot, around 2h 60mm aperture whilst the moon was nearby:

thank you and nice image, I think I will try a gathering data both with and without to see if there anything to be gained by combining. I think median filter may need to be turned off for stacking though.

Due to the moon there isn't really much else to do at the moment but collect narrowband so worth a try if you've got the scope time. I also tried RGB at the same time but got a terrible mottling effect, I think mostly due to the moon (could also be due to a poor UV/IR cut filter). If anything, if you can isolate the HA channel you can use it as a mask to boost the RGB data in red emission regions.
