Power supply adaptor for orion skyquest xx14g

Hi. I'm new to the forum and quite new to astronomy.  I've just purchased a second hand xx14g dob from ebay but it does not have a uk ac/dc power supply adaptor. The orion adaptor appears to be obsolete. Will another one work?

It's fairly unusual for someone to use an ac adapter with such a scope. A good size battery is more usual for a number of reasons...

• electrical safety - especially with dew etc.
• no trip hazard
• easier to set up especially at star parties etc.

If you do want an adapter, then any good brand 12V supply capable to at least 2 Amps will be OK. Just double check that cementer pin is positive, which is nearly universal now.
