Fixing Tent poles

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had the fun of fixing broken tent poles? One of Steve's broke when we took the tent down after last Kelling. Is it a case of switching out the broken one for a new one and rethreading the bungee/elastic string stuff through it?

Sorry about the lack of specifics as I don't have the broken poles to hand...

BTW, rumour has it, that remembering to bring the poles with you has some significance :)

I got round the not taking poles problem by taking two tents to Kielder...

We'll have to get Steve's tent out next week - I'm fairly sure there was a spare.

I have broken a couple of poles on different tents.

When this has happened (even after having it for 2 years) i contacted the two manufacturers for a replacement.

Both times they replaced the broken pole free of charge.

Its worth a try.....

It can't hurt to try although you'll probably need to buy another pole - hopefully they'll thread the other poles with it (assuming it's one of those that are threaded with several other poles. :)
