First with modified 350d

Yay! Finally weather permited me to do first light with Baader modified EOS 350d. The conditions were far from good (Bellatrix was barely visible) but nevertheless I had to try

Using an old Jupiter 37A lens 135/f3.5 closed to f4 and UHC-S filter. Total of 44 mins exposure time (60 and 90s subs @ISO800)

It's certainly "hoovering" up the red stuff

It will come into its own over the next few months with all those lovely nebs in Cygnus....

Hmmm will be interesting from a "noise" point of view as colder is normally better...

Only one way to find out really... well there is another... try it in advance by taking darks in a "warm" room... you might be able to find a sweet spot exposure time wise which...

As well as general "noise" you might have to increase the time between frames.. to limit the spread of the ampglow...

Thanks for the advices. I was even thinking of making cooling box ... some day . Made one some time ago for moded toucam and the difference was HUGE.

I use mine for daytime photos as well, with custom WB offcorse.

Unless you shoot Raw... and take care of it in the post processing...
