My DSLR sensor has adeveloped amark on it.  See attached image. Cleaning by myself & professional cleaning has not removed it.  I've concluded, therefore, that the sensor itself must be damaged.

Two queries:

1) does anyone recognise what has caused this mark?

2) is it feasible to have the sensor repaired or should I be looking at a new DSLR?

Thanks for reading.

To me that looks like impact damage. I would have thought that careful processing would be able to remove that from images and it's near the edge so you can always crop.

You don't say which camera. If it's an old Canon, they have two removeable films or layers in front of the sensor. When we astromod these cameras we remove one or both. The sensor may be undamaged.

Thanks for replying. It’s an astromodded Canon 100d. The mod was not full spectrum.
