How to focus during the day?

Hello,

I was wondering if I would be able to focus the scope during the day by making a tiny hole on the scope lens cover? I'am trying to get many data points for focuser position and temperature for AI training model.

The scope is located as such that I have a 360 degree view of the sky, but no trees or roof tops I can focus on.

A tiny hole creates a "Pinhole Camera" which has enormous depth of field.

But might give you a starting point for infinity or distant landmark focus.

Without the pinhole try SharpCap in video mode and auto exposure.

If you're lucky, sometimes the moon is out during the day, I've seen people image Jupiter during the day also, but not the best target for a focus test due to it being affected more by atmospherics.

No, as well as having a large depth of field as Michael said, the depth of focus on the sensor will also be large so changing focus will have little visual effect. Pinhole cameras are the extreme example of a stopped down lens so any image will be very soft anyway due to diffraction effects.
