I went and here is the evidence!

It was great to see everything up close.

I could not beleive the size of the cq350 tripod!

I came away with a few goodies

and enjoyed the talks and spoke to a few people, will be going again next year but will need to save up!

No wide shots of astro folk from me I’m afraid. Only these two. 

 

I was pleased to see an Askar 600 just to get a look at the size and feel of the weight. Pity there wasn’t an Askar 107 to do the same with.

That’s Teleskop Service isn’t it? A German distributor. I don’t know who makes them. I believe Askar are owned by Sharp Star. Chinese of course.

I've gotta be honest..all these blingy bright red, blue and green scope colour schemes leave me cold..

Proper scopes are always white..

I like ‘em red. But then I’ve got no taste. 😆

In time it will age them.  When we move on to another colour, red and green will look soooo last year.

It must be around 23 years since I first met Paul. I've tried blocking the memory of it, but he just keeps appearing suddenly. The photo below from quite a few years ago recently  fell out of an old observing log book I was browsing through while waiting for the clouds to clear. It scared me to death to suddenly see his beaming face looking back at me.
