NGC1499 California Nebula, broadband

Fegato

Recommended Posts

I was planning a go at the California Nebula in broadband this winter, but was running out of time given other priorities and the lack of clear nights through November and December. However, I got some 33 hours of imaging over four nights around new moon in January and managed to get this done. It's obviously most often imaged narrowband, but turns out it's a great broadband target in reasonably dark skies -  I hadn't realised it sits in the dust in quite this way.

RASA 11 on CEM120, ASI2400MC Pro, 231 x 30s over 2 mosaic panels, imaged 20-23 January.  Bortle 3.
