M42 same gear as NGC5139

This one shows the failing of the achro in CA.

But again, I'm not too disappointed for a 10 sec shot.

As I improve, longer exposure at lower ISO might lessen the halo's ?

... and, of course stacking would help too, but I realise there'll be a limit beyond which this scope cannot go.

My alignment is rough and longer shots trail sofar, but things will improve as fortunes allow.

I was lucky to score the scope as I did for a total outlay of $100 AU ( £48 approx.) to give this DSO stuff a taste

..after my attempts with EQ1 & lens were hopeless, and even the 6" Newt' on SV1(EQ3 equiv.) were really only good for Moon pic's, the bulk of my funds went into the EQ5!

(an ED80 here is $600-800 ,'complete' OTA)

...and somehow, I just knew better than to even try it with the 70/900 achro
