Boring Target, get something worthwhile....

That is the oft expressed opinion of my better half. I dunno what she has against the Ring Nebula, it is one of my favourites, even as a purely visual target I think it is hard to beat.

At any rate, I have always struggled before with flex issues when trying to image M57, so it was nice to come back to it with an off axis guider on the C9.25 which got rid of all that. Also lots of nice bright guide stars in this area.

Imaging details;

C9.25 @f6.3 with QHY8 + CLS + Celestron OAG via Nebulosity2

Meade DSI pro + PHD guiding

18 x 600 secs, plus flats, darks, bias via DSS

Finished in PS.

What was the name of his spinny little mate? This area seems oddly devoid of many fuzzies?

Thanks for looking.

TJ

And here is the above image, combined with my previous M57 data via Registar. I think in total there'd be approx 10 hrs or so on it.

At some point I want to try and get the really faint outer glow part, but that wont be from my skies......

Cheers

The widefield shot looks fantastic Tim, the tracking and star shape looks really good with very vibrant colour. The registar combined image has really brought out some great detail, a superb job. It's times like this that I wish I had a longer focal length scope.

Regards
